Conference of interestThe Orientale Lumen XXX Conference, taking place July 13–15, 2026 at the St. John Paul II Shrine in Washington, DC, brings together Roman Catholic, Eastern Catholic, and Orthodox scholars, clergy, and faithful to explore the spiritual, liturgical, and theological richness of the Christian East. The conference promotes deeper understanding between Eastern and Western Christian traditions and offers a unique opportunity for Roman Catholics to encounter the beauty of Eastern Christianity within the broader life of the Church. The topic is “Person, Soul and Consciousness: Philosophical and Theological Perspectives,” which includes bioethics, person and law, divine personhood, person and embodied cognition and other topics. The Colloquium will be held July 12-15, 2017, at St. Albert’s Priory in Oakland, California. The featured speakers include Lawrence Feingold, Thomas Hünefeldt, Steven Long, Nancey Murphy, David Oderberg, Ted Peters, Markus Rothhaar, Richard Schenk, OP, D.C.
